FAQ

The T&O ST3 Interview is a national, multi-station virtual assessment designed to test clinical, professional, and portfolio domains. In recent rounds the interview has had four stations: commitment to specialty, clinical, prioritisation and communication. Check the 2027 applicant handbook when it is published. Our course is structured around the latest official format.
Competition for a Trauma & Orthopaedics NTN is exceptionally high. The competition ratio in 2025 was 4.56:1 (684 applications for 150 posts); the 2026 figure is not yet published.
While official dates are TBC, the T&O ST3 interviews for the 2027 round (Round 2 for August start) are held within the national interview window of 11 January to 9 April 2027. Applications run from 19 November to 10 December 2026, and T&O’s own interview dates are to be confirmed (in 2026 they were in late March).
Yes. The course includes dedicated modules on evidence presentation and persuasive communication techniques for the Self-Assessment Verification (SAV) component. You will learn to confidently articulate your achievements and maximise your score against the official T&O ST3 Scoring Matrix.
The ST3 Trauma & Orthopaedics National Recruitment process is coordinated by the National Recruitment Office (currently NHS England North East and Yorkshire). All applications are submitted nationally via the Oriel recruitment portal for posts across England and Scotland.
Yes. Successful completion of the full MRCS (Part A and Part B) examination is an essential eligibility criterion. You must have been awarded the MRCS by the ‘initial offers released by’ date of the recruitment round (typically mid-April).

Yes. You can combine the online course with an optional live mock interview, giving you personalised feedback on structure, timing and delivery.

Our question bank is fully online. You can access the modules anytime and practise at your own pace. If you choose a mock interview this will be held online via Zoom, reflecting the nature of the real interview.
