The national Histopathology ST1 interview is entirely virtual and lasts around 30 minutes, split across two stations. You’ll be assessed on clinical and professional judgement, communication, and motivation for speciality. Our course replicates this exact structure with timed mock stations and consultant-level marking guidance.

Very competitive: in the 2024 cycle there were 3,719 applications for 312 posts (≈11.92:1). In 2025 the competition ratio remained high, with 4,011 applications for 356 posts (≈11.27:1).
Preparation should include: revising common radiology-specialty topics (training pathway, AI in radiology, service models); practising clinical-scenario and prioritisation questions; structuring interview responses using frameworks; and preparing to discuss your portfolio clearly and confidently under timed conditions.
