The Vascular Surgery ST3 National Selection interview is a remote national assessment for higher surgical training in the UK. It evaluates candidates across all core domains — clinical knowledge, management, communication, professionalism, skills and portfolio presentation — to determine suitability for ST3 training posts.
The interview is a single online session lasting around 50 minutes, divided into two stations. Station 1 includes a clinical scenario and a communication task; Station 2 covers a management scenario and a virtual skills or portfolio review. Each area is timed and scored independently, closely reflecting real consultant practice.
For the 2026 recruitment cycle, interviews are scheduled for late March 2026, with portfolio verification and evidence upload completed late 2025.
